Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the YoTu mobile application ("App") operated by YoTu ("we", "us", or "our").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the App.

2. Description of Service

YoTu is an AI-powered YouTube video summarization service. The App allows users to:

  • Generate AI summaries of YouTube videos
  • Subscribe to channels for automatic summarization
  • Listen to summaries via text-to-speech
  • Track time saved and usage statistics
  • Export summaries (Premium subscribers)

3. User Accounts

When you use YoTu, an anonymous account is automatically created for you. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device and account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free Tier

YoTu offers a free tier with limited features, including 1 summary per day and limited history access.

4.2 Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions (Pro, Premium) provide additional features and higher usage limits. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account.

4.3 Free Trials

We may offer free trials for paid subscriptions. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4.5 Refunds

All refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies. Contact Apple Support to request a refund.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
  • Use automated systems to access the App excessively
  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or resell any portion of the App
  • Use the App to infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The App and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are owned by YoTu and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 YouTube Content

Video content summarized by YoTu remains the property of its original creators. Summaries are generated from publicly available transcripts and are intended for personal use only.

6.3 User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create using the App. By using the App, you grant us a license to process your requests and store your data as necessary to provide the service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Summaries will be 100% accurate or complete
  • The App will meet your specific requirements

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOTU SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YoTu and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
